Outline of Yokohama History Museum

Under the theme of "Daily life and social history in Yokohama," the Yokohama History Museum exhibits historial items of the city area over 30,000 years .The round-shaped Permanent Exhibition Room is divided into six booths from the one for the Prehistory to that of the modern history. As there is no pre-set visiting order, you can start any era at your choice.

Adjacent to the museum, there is Otsuka/Saikachido Relics Park. The relics in the park are designated as National Historic Sites and reproduced pit dwellings, loop moat and a necropolis in Yayoi Era are displayed.

Also, "Tsuzuki Private House Garden" where the old house of Nagasawa Family, built in the middle of the Tokugawa Period, has been reconstructed and the outdoor Plaza with athletic facilities make this museum and the park fun places to learn history.
